June 2: David Bronstein (born 1924, Ukraine) – One of the strongest players of the mid-20th century and one of the most creative players in chess history. Pentala Harikrishna (born 1986) – One of India’s top chess players, a former World Junior Chess Champion, and a regular participant in prestigious tournaments.Zhu Chen (born 1976, China) – Former Women’s World Chess Champion (2001-2004) and the first Asian woman to win the title.

June 3: Alexander Morozevich (born 1977, Russia) – Former World No. 2 and renowned for his aggressive and imaginative playing style.

June 5: Viktor Korchnoi (born 1931, Russia/Switzerland) – One of the strongest players of the 20th century and a prominent figure in the chess world for many decades.

June 6: Anatoly Karpov (born 1951, Russia) – Former World Chess Champion (1975-1985) and one of the most successful tournament players in the history of the game.

June 9: Pia Cramling (born 1963, Sweden) – One of the strongest female players in history and a prominent figure in the chess world for several decades.

June 10: Judit Polgár (born 1976, Hungary) – Considered the strongest female chess player of all time and the only woman to have reached the top 10 in the FIDE world rankings.

June 13: Viswanathan Anand (born 1969) – Widely regarded as one of the greatest chess players of all time, Anand is a former World Chess Champion and has been a dominant force in Indian chess for decades.
Hikaru Nakamura (born 1987, USA) – One of the strongest American chess players and a five-time United States Chess Champion.

June 15: Magnus Carlsen (born 1990, Norway) – Current World Chess Champion and one of the highest-rated players in chess history.

June 19: Garry Kasparov (born 1963, Russia) – Former World Chess Champion (1985-2000) and one of the greatest players in the history of the game.

June 20: Parimarjan Negi (born 1993) – At the age of 13, Negi became the second-youngest Grandmaster in history at that time. He has represented India in numerous international tournaments.

June 21: Maia Chiburdanidze (born 1961, Georgia) – Former Women’s World Chess Champion (1978-1991) and one of the leading female players of her generation.

June 22: Humpy Koneru (born 1987, India) – One of the top-ranked female chess players in the world and multiple-time Women’s World Chess Championship contender.

June 23: Boris Spassky (born 1937, Russia/France) – Former World Chess Champion (1969-1972) and a key figure in the famous Cold War-era “Match of the Century” against Bobby Fischer.
